During Prohibition our sister city Windsor kept the 15,000 speakeasies and blind pigs of Detroit awash in beer and spirits. This 14 minute or so documentary out of Ontario starts of in the town of Waterloo Ontario, and ends up right here in Detroit.

It is impossible to talk about Prohibition and Windsor, without Detroit. The documentary leads right onto the corner of Mt. Elliot and Nevada, where Detroit’s oldest bar, The Way Inn still stands, serving drinks since 1876.

The Two Way Inn is a must stop for anyone exploring or curious about Detroit. The history is wild and it is even haunted. Its one of our favorite bars in the city.

No matter what, its always fun to learn about the history of booze in Detroit.
