Comerica Park will be hosting its first ever LGBT Pride Night on June 3rd.

The game against the Oakland Athletics is not listed as one of the franchise’s theme nights, but rather a regular game. Unlike when the A’s announced their Pride Night, which will be held later in June, there hasn’t been much of an uproar over announcement. When Oakland announced their LGBT night, there were quite a few season ticket holder complaints prompting Sean Doolittle and his girlfriend Eireann Dolan to offer to buy up the tickets for that night.

Our Tigers are one of five teams so far that are hosting a Pride Night. The Oakland A’s will have theirs on the 17th of June. Other teams celebrating LGBT Pride nights include the Dodgers, the Giants, and the Cubs – who have been holding nights like this for 14 years.

Co-sponsored by the Detroit Regional LGBT Chamber of Commerce, the tickets for the June 3rd game will be starting at a base line for $40.

Motor City Pride is a few short days after the game and will be held in Hart Plaza on June 6 and 7.
