Alright, Detroit, grab that coat that is hanging in the dark corner of your closet that you haven’t worn in years and head on down to the Hard Rock Café this Saturday, November 14, between 11 am and 6 pm. Ask Dr. Nandi Charities is hosting its third annual coat drive complete with a killer line up of live performances and a special appearance by the big man himself – SANTA.
This great event is perfect for the whole family and offers up a fantastic way to give back to such an awesome community.
Dr. Partha Nandi, host of the Ask Dr. Nandi medical show on channel 7 is hoping to raise five thousand coats for several different charities that benefit the underprivileged within our city.
Plenty of local bands and artists are giving their time to this project including Channel 7’s Stephen Clark, Dan Tillery, America’s Got Talent’s Olivia Millerschin, Eric Nicolau, and American Idol’s Keri Lyn Roche, as well as several popular local bands. Two beloved Detroit-born acts will be headlining the show as well: Martha Reeves and the Vandellas and The Contours.
In addition to the great musical line-up, there will also be an auction with several awesome items up for big including Lions vs. Packers tickets, a signed Andre Drummond shoe, and several pieces of artwork.
If you can’t make it out on Saturday and still want to donate, you can! There are several locations throughout the Metro area that have offered up space for drop off boxes.
So come on out and give back to the less fortunate in our community and maybe clean out a small corner of your closet. It’s going to be one hell of a party.
