Bosco Cafe & Dessert Lounge
22930 Woodward Ave, Ferndale
Imagine this if you will, farm fresh eggs poached to perfection, thick slices of locally sourced Dearborn ham, hickory smoked bacon from Eastern Market, topped with a smooth, yet subtle homemade hollandaise sauce, zesty chives, and smartly placed on a toasted English muffin.
Not even kidding, could be the best Benny in Metro Detroit. It was delicious, its incredible what happens when you combine fresh ingredients, and locally sourced swine.
If you haven’t had the pleasure, Bosco’s patio is amazing. It has literally won awards. I would add it to your must visit list this summer, for either brunch or a dessert cocktail. I was curious if my dog could come along so I called to see what they would say, and they said it would be fine on the patio. I made it before the big brunch rush, we all grabbed a table, and as an added bonus they brought out a bowl of water in case she got thirsty.
“They” say that the best servers are the ones you barely notice, but its hard not to notice all of the staff, they’re beautiful. They are also attentive, and very knowledgeable.
Let’s talk booze. I had a Mimosa, I know, shocker, the picture gives it away. I definitely dig the fresh squeezed vibe, I really do, but unfortunately for serious brunch goers the pulp is unruly. In my mind, that would be the only hiccup in the program at Bosco. I’d consider a lighter pulp, or none at all, my fellow brunch goers all agreed.
Based on this brunch experience, I’d give the Bosco Café and Dessert Lounge in Ferndale a 4.5 out of 5 Mimosas.
Here is a link to their menu. They have an eclectic spread of options. Its not just eggs benedicts, there is something to keep everyone happy, and help them on their way to recovery.
