If you live in Michigan and are in the market to buy something online , it would be wise to make the purchase before October 1st. Thanks to the Michigan Fairness Act, signed by Governor Rick Snyder, it will require online retailers to collect a 6% tax on all orders.
This includes retailers such as Amazon and Ebay. What most Michigan resident do not realize is that a self-imposed tax must be placed on purchases made online and sent to the IRS. The good that will come out of this is roughly $60 Million for the state.
